Praha is a small community located on FM 1295.  This Czech community is one that is known from coast to coast and even in other countries.  The center of our community is our church - St. Mary's, Assumption of the Blessed Virigin Mary Catholic Church.

St. Mary's is one of the famous Painted Churches of Texas and is visited by thousands each year.   The current church was dedicated in 1895.

Many of these visitors attend our yearly chuch picnic - Prazska Pout.  Prazska Pout is held on August 15th each year regardless of what day of the week it falls on because it is held in conjunction with the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virigin Mary, for which our church is named.  This year (Monday, August 15, 2011) will mark the 156th picnic.

Each year Praha also serves as the host to the annual Veteran's Memorial Day Celebration.  This year, it will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011.
